About The Lodge
A Lake Victoria hotel, Marriott Protea Hotel Entebbe is ideally located for guests wanting to spend time on the shores of this African Great Lake, or who are transiting via Uganda’s main airport (just 1km away) while heading to mountain gorilla encounters – or indeed in the other direction to experience a savannah safari in Kenya or Tanzania.

Being situated right on the lakeshore gives Marriott Protea Hotel Entebbe a genuine resort feel, and this sensation is heightened by not only the expansive views out over Africa’s largest lake, but also by the relaxed ambience created by the design of this Lake Victoria hotel.
Lake Victoria is the touchpoint for every moment of the guest experience at this hotel. It’s easy to while away time gazing across this immense body of water and watching the small local fishing boats come and go – so easy, in fact, that hours can slip away in this immensely relaxing pastime.
The lake also provides some of the key ingredients used in the hotel’s excellent restaurant, including tilapia and the giant Nile perch that were introduced into the lake many years ago, and that have since somewhat taken over. Not only are they good to eat, but ordering Nile perch helps guests do their bit for the lake’s biodiversity!
The hotel has been designed with the needs of today’s traveller very much in mind. The terrace and bar are orientated to provide the best possible views, while the guest rooms offer excellent comfort and security.
With Entebbe airport so close, early morning wake-ups to catch flights to safari destinations can be a little more civilised. However, true to its resort-like approach to life, there’s no real need to leave the hotel during a stay – everything is very capably taken care of.
