A night on a coffee plantation in Arusha will set the pace before flying in to explore the wildlife-rich plains of the Serengeti. Day by day
Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your Wildlife Safari representative who will escort you to Lake Duluti Lodge, set amongst coffee plantations on the shores of Lake Duluti. Take in the views of the coffee farm with its large indigenous trees. Settle in and enjoy the day at your leisure.
Serengeti
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a road transfer to Arusha Airport for your light aircraft flight into the Serengeti. On arrival you’ll be welcomed and driven to Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp (June – November) or Sanctuary Kusini Serengeti Camp (December – March). Make yourself at home, have some lunch and head off on an afternoon game drive to start exploring the Serengeti plains before dinner is served at the camp.
Serengeti
Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing on the vast plains of the Serengeti, world-famous for its annual wildebeest and zebra migration, when nearly two million animals traverse the open plains in long columns searching for fresh grasslands. Migration aside, the game viewing in the Serengeti is amazing any time during the year. End your afternoon game drive with a refreshing sundowner as the sun sets over the wildlife-filled savannah. Savour international flavours at dinner and end the day around a glowing campfire.
Serengeti
Another day to experience this vast and un-spoilt wilderness, supporting a large diversity of wildlife that fill the open plains. You’ll always be on the lookout for the Big-5 – lion, elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo and the elusive leopard – perhaps you’ll even be lucky enough to see a predator stalking its prey. In-between exciting game drives, relax in the privacy of your safari tented surrounded by the solitude of nature, relish meals conjured up by the chef and end the day surrounded by the sounds of the night around a crackling log fire.
Ngorongoro Crater
An early morning game drive and breakfast before heading off to the airstrip for your flight to Lake Manyara airstrip. On arrival you’ll be transferred on a scenic two-hour drive, to Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp, situated in the Ngorongoro Crater rim valley. Settle into your classic safari tent, enjoying some time at leisure before dinner and the glowing campfire beckon.
Ngorongoro Crater
An early morning start to the day before descending the narrow track to the crater floor, where you’ll enjoy a picnic breakfast. In the early afternoon, you’ll make your up the narrow track for a late lunch with the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy dinner, followed by a cold G&T around the crackling campfire.

Destinations on this trip
Tanzania is an East African safari powerhouse, not least because in the Serengeti it features one of the greatest of all wilderness areas, and the backdrop for the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. Factor in Indian Ocean Islands, too, and it’s clear that Tanzania safaris can be all things to all people.
The Serengeti takes its name from a Maasai word meaning ‘where the land runs on forever’. It’s one of the most evocative and iconic safari destinations of all – not least because it’s the stage on which much of the drama of the Great Wildebeest Migration is played out each year.
Descending into the Ngorongoro Crater from one of the luxury lodges perched on its rim is one of the most remarkable safari experiences available in Tanzania. Driving across an ancient volcanic caldera, the wildlife may seem familiar, but the setting is quite unique, and this makes for wonderful photographic opportunities.
