Day by day
Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya! On your arrival in Nairobi, a representative will meet and assist you through immigration and customs before your Wildlife Safari guest manager escorts you by private vehicle to Nairobi Serena Hotel. Here you’ll enjoy a ‘welcome’ safari briefing, with rest of day at leisure.
Amboseli
Breakfast will be served at your hotel before you set off in your 4WD vehicle with your Wildlife Safari guide towards Namanga. Enter Amboseli National Park, its backdrop being the highest peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro. You’ll begin game viewing on the way to Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge in awe of your magnificent surroundings. Once you’ve made yourself at home, head out on an afternoon game drive returning around sunset, with time to freshen up before dinner.
Amboseli
Set off on your early morning game drive and with a bit of luck, Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak will be clear and uncovered. Return for a late breakfast with the remainder of the morning to relax at the lodge. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game drive around the many springs and lakes in search of Amboseli’s fabled elephant herds. If you accept an invitation to plant an acacia tree as part of the Amboseli Reforestation Project (created by Wildlife Safari and Serena Hotels) you’ll receive a commemorative certificate. End the day with dinner at the lodge and relax under a star-filled sky.
Ol Pejeta
Enjoy an early breakfast, then depart for Ol Pejeta wildlife sanctuary, famed for its pioneering wildlife conservancy. Arrive at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, an oasis set around a floodlit waterhole in this sanctuary that overlooks Mt Kenya. Take some time to settle in before heading out on a game drive where you’ll experience the large wildlife density that the conservancy has to offer. Return to camp and enjoy dinner.
Ol Pejeta
Wake up – not only for some extraordinary game viewing – but you’ll also be paying a visit to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, where abandoned and rescued chimps are rehabilitated. Returning to the lodge, treat yourself to a cold drink at the Waterhole Bar, offering stunning views of the waterhole and the animals that frequent it. Enjoy dinner at the lodge, overlooking the floodlit waterhole.
Great Rift Valley
Enjoy breakfast, then depart for the Great Rift Valley, boasting hot springs, geysers, volcanoes and some of the oldest, largest and deepest lakes in the world. The alkaline shallow soda lakes are famous for their flamingo flocks, which gather to feed and breed along the lakeshore. Arrive at Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp, settle into your luxury tent, and take in the beautiful lake views from your private balcony. Head off late afternoon for some relaxed game viewing and bird watching around Lake Elmenteita, returning for dinner at the camp.
Great Rift Valley
Today you’ll head out on a game drive to explore Lake Nakuru National Park, there are over 500 species of birds in the park, as well as the big hitters such as lion, rhino and buffalo, amongst others. On return to the lodge, take a dip in the pool or treat yourself to a refreshing drink at the bar, overlooking the waterhole and surrounding wilderness. Enjoy dinner at the lodge.
Masai Mara
Depart after breakfast and drive along the Great Rift Valley floor to enter the Masai Mara National Reserve, where you immediately begin game viewing, passing wildlife herds on the vast savannah plains as you drive towards Mara Serena Safari Lodge. After lunch, take a late afternoon game drive, returning to your lodge for dinner.
Masai Mara
Enjoy two full days, in your 4×4 game viewing vehicle, for some of the Masai Mara’s exceptional game viewing. Witness the sun rising over the savannah grasslands, the silhouette of giraffe, elephant, wildebeest – and many more – on the horizon. Return to camp for lunch and leisure before you’re back on the vehicle for your next game drive with endless opportunities, a predator stalking its prey, a fish eagle calling over the river or a calf being born, who knows what’s lying in wait. Breakfast and dinner are at Mara Serena Lodge, while lunch is taken picnic-style under a magnificent acacia tree.
Depart
After breakfast at Mara Serena Lodge, enjoy a final morning game drive en route to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport. A Wildlife Safari representative will meet and transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward trip.

Destinations on this trip
Kenya has as good a claim as anywhere to being the country where modern safaris began, and where they’re done best, and it still regularly features high on travel magazines ‘must-visit’ lists. Kenya has been doing what it does best for decades, and yet there’s always something new to discover on Kenya safaris.
Amboseli is known as Kenya’s land of giants, and it’s not hard to see why. Africa’s tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, towers over the national park, and it’s also one of the best places in East Africa to encounter elephant in numbers. No wonder people use superlatives to describe Amboseli safaris.
Lake Elmenteita offers a more secluded safari destination than either of its neighbouring lakes (Naivasha and Nakuru), which can make it feel more exclusive. The unique volcanic landscape adds to the sense of being wonderfully removed from all that’s unimportant – and the unusual wildlife species seen on Lake Elmenteita safaris only reinforce this impression.
Lake Naivasha safaris take you to a literal and metaphorical oasis, offering a change of pace without any reduction in wildlife-viewing opportunities. Renowned for its spectacular birdlife, Naivasha nevertheless has a number of other feathers in its cap. While easily reached from Nairobi, it feels a million miles from the hustle of the city.
Ol Pejeta is a pioneering wildlife conservancy in Laikipia – Kenya’s high country. With the emphasis firmly on species conservation, Ol Pejeta safaris offer not only exceptional opportunities to view species that are scarce elsewhere, but also to learn about, contribute to and even participate in ground-breaking and impactful conservation projects.
