Day by day
Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your Wildlife Safari representative who will escort you to Lake Duluti Lodge, set amongst coffee plantations on the shores of Lake Duluti. Take in the views of the coffee farm with its large indigenous trees. Settle in and enjoy the day at your leisure.
Tarangire
Breakfast will be served at your hotel before you set off in your 4WD vehicle with your Wildlife Safari guide, towards Tarangire National Park, with its mighty baobab trees and breathtaking views. Settle into your canvas pavilion at Sanctuary Swala Camp, shaded by acacia trees and boasting peaceful views of the waterhole. Set off on your late afternoon game drive, returning to camp for dinner and a glowing log fire.
Tarangire
Spend the day on safari exploring this unique and quieter area known for its large concentrations of elephants and game, attracted to the Tarangire River. The area is home to rarer animals such as the fridge-eared Oryx, wild dogs and pythons, spotted in the trees. Stop to enjoy sundowners on your afternoon game drive, returning to camp as the creatures of the night awaken. In-between exciting game drives, take some time to relax at camp in the heat of the day, enjoy meals on the stilted deck, ending the day with a campfire and the starry African sky.
Ngorongoro Crater
Depart after breakfast for a scenic drive through coffee plantations towards Ngorongoro Crater, arriving at Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp situated in the Ngorongoro Crater rim valley. Settle into your classic safari tent, enjoying some time at leisure before dinner is served and the glowing campfire beckons.
Ngorongoro Crater
An early morning start to the day before descending the narrow track to the crater floor, where you’ll enjoy a picnic breakfast. Explore the myriad tracks around the crater floor – an exceptional experience in this Eden-like setting. The crater floor is a mini biosphere with multitudes of animal and bird species, including the black rhino. In the early afternoon, ascend back up the narrow track to camp for a late lunch with the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner is served, followed by a drink around the crackling campfire.
Serengeti
Today you cross the adjacent Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing Olduvai Gorge, the fascinating archaeological site, en route. There’s an optional visit to the local museum, before you enter the vast Serengeti National Park. Here you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing on your game drive towards Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp (June – November) or Sanctuary Kusini Serengeti Camp (December – March). Make yourself feel at home, have some lunch and head off on an afternoon game drive to start exploring the Serengeti plains before dinner is served at the camp.
Serengeti
Enjoy a day of game viewing on the vast plains of the Serengeti, world-famous for its annual wildebeest and zebra migration, when nearly two million animals traverse the open plains in long columns searching for fresh grasslands. Although this is seasonal, the game viewing in the Serengeti is amazing any time during the year. During the afternoon’s game drive, enjoy a refreshing sundowner as the sun sets over the animal-filled savannah plains. Dinner will be served at camp, before ending the day around a glowing campfire.
After breakfast, you’ll head off on a road transfer to the local airstrip and board your light aircraft, flying over the Serengeti, landing to clear immigration and customs in Kenya before continuing to the Masai Mara. Your Kenya safari guide will meet you on arrival and take you on a game drive as you make your way to your Sanctuary Olonana Camp, sitting on a private stretch on the Mara River. Settle in before your first game drive, followed by dinner at the lodge and a crackling fire in the boma.
Wake at the crack of dawn and head off in your 4×4 game viewing vehicle for some of the Masai Mara’s exceptional game viewing. Witness the sun rising over the savannah grasslands, the silhouette of giraffe, elephant, wildebeest – and many more – on the horizon. Return to camp for lunch and leisure before you’re back on the vehicle for your next safari adventure. Perhaps the Big-5 is on the cards this afternoon? Enjoy dinner before the sounds of the night surround you at the campfire.
Masai Mara
Rise to the sound of the birds, heading off on your first exciting game drive of the day. Endless opportunity awaits, a predator stalking its prey, a fish eagle calling over the river or a calf being born, who knows what today holds. In-between drives, take some time to relax, experiencing the fantastic facilities at the lodge. Cool off in the swimming pool, before heading out on your next game spotting expedition, savouring a sundowner while the sun sets over the African bush. Enjoy dinner at the lodge.
Depart
A last morning game drive and breakfast back at camp before departing to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Domestic Airport. A Wildlife Safari representative will meet and transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward trip.

Destinations on this trip
Tanzania is an East African safari powerhouse, not least because in the Serengeti it features one of the greatest of all wilderness areas, and the backdrop for the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. Factor in Indian Ocean Islands, too, and it’s clear that Tanzania safaris can be all things to all people.
Kenya has as good a claim as anywhere to being the country where modern safaris began, and where they’re done best, and it still regularly features high on travel magazines ‘must-visit’ lists. Kenya has been doing what it does best for decades, and yet there’s always something new to discover on Kenya safaris.
