Day by day
Welcome to Kenya! On your arrival in Nairobi, a representative will meet and assist you through immigration and customs before your guest manager escorts you by private vehicle to Nairobi Serena Hotel. Settle in and recover from your international flight with the rest of the day at your leisure.
Laikipia
Breakfast will be served at your hotel before setting off with your Wildlife Safari guide. Travelling northbound towards Laikipia, stop at the equator en-route for a photo opportunity before entering Mugie Conservancy. Begin game viewing on your way to Governors’ Mugie House in this private wildlife conservancy, taking in your wild surroundings. Once you’ve made yourself at home in your stone cottage, head out on an afternoon game drive with time to freshen up before dinner.
Laikipia
Wake up bright and early for your morning game drive. Explore Laikipia’s acacia dotted landscape to the dam and olive forests. Lunch at Mugie House and the day is at your leisure to watch the waterhole and the wildlife frequenting it, take a dip in the rim-flow swimming pool and enjoy a siesta before setting off to watch the sunset on your late afternoon game drive, returning for dinner and a crackling fire.
Laikipia
Another day to enjoy game driving through this beautiful area with its diversity of wildlife, including northern endemic species Grevy Zebra, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Reticulate Giraffe and Gerenuk. Enjoy meals, a siesta and end the evening around the campfire.
Lake Naivasha
Enjoy breakfast, then depart for the Great Rift Valley, boasting hot springs, geysers, volcanoes and some of the oldest, largest and deepest lakes in the world. The alkaline shallow soda lakes are famous for their flamingo flocks gathering to feed and breed along the lakeshore. Arrive at Governors’ Loldia House sitting on a farm on the banks of Lake Naivasha, one of two freshwater lakes on the rift. Settle in and spend the afternoon relaxing while taking in the magnificent views. Enjoy dinner and end the day off under the star-studded sky.
Lake Naivasha
Your safari guide will arrange a day of exploring to suit your preference in Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its flamingos as well as being a sanctuary for the endangered black rhino, white rhino and the rare Rothschild giraffe. Spend a leisurely afternoon at the lodge enjoying the facilities on offer. Take in the spectacular views and surrounding birdlife while enjoying your dinner.
Lake Naivasha
Wake up for a day of pure relaxation! Enjoy the facilities at Loldia House, savour meals in the dining room, relax with a book in the lounge or take a dip in the sparkling pool. As optional extras, treat yourself at the poolside spa, or head off on a guided boat safari on Lake Naivasha. Relish dinner, feeling relaxed from the serene day.
Masai Mara
Depart after breakfast, driving along the Great Rift Valley floor to enter the Masai Mara National Reserve, where you immediately begin game viewing, passing wildlife herds on the vast savannah plains, Arrive at Governors Camp, which rests peacefully in a riverine forest on the banks of the Mara River. Settle into your classic safari-style tent, freshen up and head out on your first game drive. Enjoy dinner before ending the day around the crackling campfire.
Masai Mara
Wake at the crack of dawn and head off in your 4×4 game viewing vehicle, for some of the Masai Mara’s exceptional game viewing. Witness the sun rising over the savannah grasslands, the silhouette of giraffe, elephant, wildebeest – and many more – on the horizon. Return to camp for lunch and leisure before you’re back on the vehicle for your next game drive. Perhaps the Big-5 is on the cards this afternoon? Enjoy dinner and let the sounds of the night surround you at the campfire under the African sky.
Masai Mara
Rise to the sounds of the birds, heading off on your first exciting game drive of the day. Endless opportunity awaits, a predator stalking its prey, a fish eagle calling over the river or a calf being born. Who knows what’s in-store today? Between drives, take some time to relax, enjoying the river view before heading out on your next game spotting expedition as the sun sets over the African bush. Enjoy dinner before winding down for a peaceful night’s rest.
Enjoy a last morning game drive and breakfast back at camp before departing to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Domestic Airport. You’ll be met by your Wildlife Safari Representative and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
